Why Do I Write Blogs?
Recently I have had a few calls from customers telling me how much they love the blogs I post on our TPS website, the monthly newsletter, and the topics I cover. They especially like the fact I often stray away from subjects that are not “Meat” related and are not always “PC”, as so many people these days like to always play it safe; but where is the fun in that?
When I write my ramblings, I imagine I am in a shop chewing the cud with my customers talking about the latest events of the day and having my say, although absent from their presence, I will admit it is a one-sided conversation.
Not taking the risk of infecting my customers
The main reason I write these inner thoughts of mine, is my way of keeping in touch with the contributors to our success, our customers, who we have limited access to due to the current COVID restrictions, and it would be irresponsible and a lack of respect to risk any customer’s business by visiting as could I honestly say a trip to a customer’s shop to sell was “essential travel”?
You are what you are.
And on the matter of being a little less than “PC”, would you rather do business with someone who says they do not like football, but secretly have a season ticket at Ibrox or Parkhead, or someone who ties his flag to the post for all to see?
Business is all about trust and you should never be afraid to be who you are. As long as the service and pricing levels are good, then if you are blue, green, claret and amber or black and white, it should never matter. As long as you are devoted to serving the customer, that is all that matters.
